Dear Visitor,

Welcome to CGS Lower School. For many families, this marks the first step in their child’s educational journey, while for others it is a continuation of their early years of learning. At CGS Lower School, we are committed to making these formative years meaningful, joyful, and enriching. Our approach centres on nurturing each child as an individual, allowing them to develop their skills, confidence, and curiosity at their own pace within a supportive and stimulating learning environment.

The Lower School campus caters to students from Pre-Playgroup to Class 2, generally between the ages of 2.5 and 8.5 years. During these crucial early years, our focus is on building a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, and social development, while fostering a lifelong love for learning. Our academic framework is aligned with the Cambridge International curriculum, and students are introduced to a broad range of subjects designed to support both academic and personal growth.

Learning at CGS extends well beyond the classroom. Our students take part in a vibrant co-curricular programme that includes Art, Music, Physical Education, creative expression, and a variety of exploratory educational activities. These opportunities help children build confidence, develop teamwork, and explore their creativity while enhancing their overall learning experience.

Alongside academic development, we place great importance on instilling lifelong values such as respect, courage, empathy, generosity, and service to the community. We also aim to cultivate in our students a strong sense of creativity, innovation, leadership, environmental awareness, and global citizenship, preparing them to grow into responsible and compassionate individuals.

At CGS Lower School, we are also committed to nurturing environmentally responsible learners. Through our Green School Initiative, students are encouraged to develop an early appreciation for sustainability through activities such as recycling programmes, gardening projects, and environmental awareness initiatives. These experiences help children understand the importance of caring for their surroundings and contributing positively to the world around them.

Our teachers are at the heart of everything we do. They participate in regular professional development programmes, workshops, and training sessions, both internal and external, ensuring that they remain motivated and equipped with the latest teaching strategies and innovative learning approaches. This commitment to continuous improvement allows us to maintain a dynamic and engaging classroom experience for our students.

We warmly invite prospective families to become part of the CGS community, where young learners are inspired to grow, explore, and thrive. We look forward to welcoming you to the CGS Lower School family.

What's Happening at Lower School

The Lower School observed Language Martyrs’ Day with great respect and enthusiasm. Students learned about the importance of the Bangla language and the sacrifices made by the language martyrs. Through age-appropriate activities, our young learners reflected on the value of linguistic heritage and developed a sense of pride in their mother tongue.

Gardening has become a meaningful hands-on learning experience for our Lower School students, who have created a small vegetable patch in the backfield using crates and boxes. Over time, a variety of vegetables have grown successfully, thanks to the children’s regular care and attention. Students take responsibility for watering the plants and ensuring they are well maintained.
